The bar cart has become something of a status piece for any stylish living room—and with slick options available from Target
to Serena & Lily
, you can find the once-elusive item at nearly every price point. But what do you do when your apartment is already packed to the gills? Here, a few surprisingly small-space friendly bar cart set ups to inspire your holiday entertaining. Chin chin!
1. In Lonny Editorial Coordinator Sarah Jean Shelton's NYC entryway, a small sliver of wall between the living room and galley kitchen becomes an unexpected focal point, thanks to a hammered gold bar cart from HomeGoods. A pair of vintage prints define the vignette, so it doesn't feel like a lonely piece of furniture. A large tray and a glossy decorative box provide a little unexpected storage.
2. If you're not the single-malt after work type, consider a temporary set up for a party. A super luxe folding table, like this one in black and gold, is an excellent substitute for the permanent rolling version. A set of Ralph Lauren flutes is an elegant compliment to a domed gold table lamp and, of course, plenty of bubbles.
3. If your space is at max capacity, but you've got a surface to spare, try the tray route. Atop a dining room buffet or hidden in a hutch, we suspect your guests won't frown on your simple set up. Designer Lisa Sherry, who masterminded this space is a major advocate of the tray to "keep things neat and organized." A vintage painting and delicate floral arrangement downplay the utilitarian aspect.
