(Ph. Ball & Albanese, Lonny)
Ben Watts knows a good image when he sees one—he is a fashion photographer, after all. When we were shooting his Montauk home for the July/August issue, it was his well-trained eye that introduced us to the work of Gray Malin, whose aerial beach photograph was layered with Watts's personal photos in his laid-back living room. We loved the graphic realism of the photo that day, and fell even more in love when we learned that a similar photo from the series (called À La Plage) had been turned into wallpaper in collaboration with Black Crow Studios.
This helicopter capture of a Lisbon, Portugal, umbrella-laden beach makes for a perfect, summery motif—a real-life polka dot made up of unassuming sunbathers. Available in PVC-free and removable options in addition to a matte vinyl, the wallcovering is printed in 52"x120" rolls and would look equally at home on a beach house accent wall as it would in a spunky kids bathroom.
