The Summer's Best Snack: Popsicles with a Green Twist

We've been known to test out a health craze or two at Lonny HQ, whether it's juice cleanses, Paleo lunch spots, or midday Tracy Anderson workouts in the office. We've also been known to hold a certain enthusiasm for happy hour. So we were thrilled to combine these passions with a recent visit from Aloha, makers of a vegan, gluten-free "greens powder," that provides all the nutrients many of us rely on green juices and smoothies for, without all the sugar or the wallet-draining price.

While you can mix their powders—available in original green, berry, and chocolate varieties—in water or smoothies, for our desk-side tasting we took things in a very Lonny direction with some teetotaling but still delicious popsicles. Check out the, simple, refreshing (and sneakily good for you) recipe:

Mint-Honey-Cucumber Summer Popsicles
Makes 10 popsicles

-- ½ cucumber, thinly sliced
-- 6 bags green tea
-- 15-20 mint leaves
-- 3 tablespoons honey
-- 1-3 packets of The Daily Good Greens

Bring water to a boil in a teapot; remove from heat and add tea bags. Stir in mint leaves and honey and let sit for a few minutes to steep. Remove tea bags and mix in the Daily Good Greens powder. Pour mixture into popsicle molds, making sure there are a few mint leaves in each. Add slices of cucumber to each mold and push them towards the bottom. Freeze completely before serving.
