bridgehampton, New York
(from a newbie)

"Like any New York transplant, this summer was all about a growing familiarity with the Hamptons. Idyllic pop-ups like Garnett-Hill's beach-modern Southampton location was a must-stop that only further encouraged me to keep coming back." - @nataliemcaceres, Senior Designer

Sea of Cortez, Mexico
(from a newbie)

Snorkeling + sailboat + cerveza. What could be more blissful? On a quick jaunt to check out the newly reopened @esperanzaresort in Cabo San Lucas, I ate my weight in ceviche and swam in the warmest, bluest waters I'd ever seen anywhere in the world. - @helloireneedwards, Executive Editor

Rome, Italy
(from a newbie)

"My Mom, Aunt Mary Gene, sister Christina and I took a tour of southern Italy in late June. We met relatives for the first time in Calabria, swam in Amalfi's Mediterranean, and ate the best 'nduja the world has to offer in Rome." - @garruppo, Photo Editor

Portland, Oregon
(From a Newbie)

"My home of New York is a city of neighborhoods so when I'm exploring a new metropolis I love learning all of its distinctive little pockets. On a recent trip to Portland, Oregon, I visited the Lan Su Chinese Garden, a small, walled oasis in the middle of an even tinier Chinatown. The individually-pieced herringbone pathways alone are worth the visit, but the moon gates, koi ponds, and otherworldly flora make it a not-to-be missed secret spot. - @kenzschmidt, Senior Associate Editor

Little Gasparilla Island, Florida
(from a local)

"Since I was a little girl, my family has escaped to Little Gasparilla, a tiny Gulf Coast island near Boca Grande. Only accessible by boat, there are no stores, restaurants, or cars on the narrow spit of sand. Of all the quirky, charming island houses, the Pineapple House is my absolute favorite for its bright colors, very literal fruit motifs, and this perfect, beach-facing screened porch." - @sj_shelton, Editorial Coordinator

Coney Island, New York
(from a local)

"Coney Island offered up traditional Jamaican dance-hall parties this summer and I made it out to one. Brooklyn's rich culture and diversity is one of the many reasons why I love living here, and this event was a perfect representation. No one was sent away from the crowd, and all forms of dance were encouraged." - @garruppo, Photo Editor

POrtland, Oregon
(from a local)

"A visit to Portland is not complete without a stroll on the historic Pittock Mansion's grounds high up in the hills overlooking downtown Portland. The old world, chateau style architectural details are one of of the most stunning sights the city has to offer." - @nmcaceres, Senior Designer

Newport, Rhode Island
(From a local)

"I've been coming to Newport (my adoptive and my boyfriend's actual hometown) for about ten years, and no beach town can touch it in my opinion. You've got the little sandy coves of Cape Cod, the grand homes and hedges of the Hamptons, and the hokey vacation town shops of the Jersey Shore all in one place, and wrapped up in a totally bananas, robber-barren-fueled, top-to-bottom-gilded history lesson." - @kenzschmidt, Senior Associate Editor
