Decorating for December fêtes doesn’t always have to mean an explosion of the usual cliché colors—it’s about setting a joyous scene that’s a natural extension of your style. Need inspiration? Using a sophisticated palette of neutrals and just a hint of green and blue, designer Mark D. Sikes dreamed up a dinner party at his home in L.A.’s Hollywood Hills that’s decidedly chic yet worthy of this time of year. “We create festive celebrations, but we do them our way,” says Sikes. To get the look, load up on candlesticks, hurricanes, and serving trays to give your table a luxe, layered mood straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie.
