A lavish spread goes hand in hand with this time of year—so make sure your celebratory setting stands out from the rest. Starting with IKEA’s Rekarne Table, we’ve created a joyous party scene that feels both elegant and accessible. Watch the video to see how it all came together, and click on the image above to shop the story.

MAKE IT WORK

1. Elevate your tablescape. Stack low-lying plates atop cardboard boxes wrapped in seasonal papers to vary the heights of your desserts and allow for easier reach.

2. Incorporate holiday hues with textiles and treats. A woven gold table runner sets a festive base for a sideboard of wintery confections.

3. Stick to timeless pieces. A footed glass fruit bowl, tiered dessert tray, and covered cake stand are neutral basics that add sculptural interest to your buffet—and that you’ll happily use year-round.

4. Create ambiance from above. Paper lanterns are easy to install and can quickly transform any space into an inviting, party-worthy room. (Bonus points for a glittery disco ball—or two!)
