I've always been in love with this image (above right) from Lonny
's September/October 2011
issue. I also love the idea that a map could serve as wallpaper—especially a map so saturated in gorgeously bright hues.
Armed with the knowledge
that oversize print can help make a small space seem bigger, I decided to use the same paper—not in my bathroom, like the Harbour Island homeowner pictured in Lonny
, but in my squeeze-through galley kitchen (above left). Now not only do I have a much-needed incentive to cook, but no excuse not to be fluent in world capitals.
