Two years have passed since Hotel Chelsea—the legendary institution and home to countless creative Manhattanites; Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Allen Ginsberg, and Iggy Pop, to name a few—was sold and closed for a full renovation. When the hotel's close was announced, photographer Victoria Cohen set out to create a visual documentation of the beloved red-brick landmark of West 23rd Street, and the remaining traces of the Hotel's glory days.

Cohen shares that, "Although I felt I was on an adventurous and interesting journey, artistically, I also had an increasing sense of responsibility to the legacy of the Chelsea. I felt I had to do in my photographs what I could not do in life; preserve this beautiful and special place."

Cohen's haunting and intriguing study of still life portraits will be on display at Third Streaming Gallery in New York City beginning September 17th through October 29th, and will be
available in print in early September from Pointed Leaf Press.
