Also included is everything you need to get your indoor garden started, from biodegradable paper pots to soil and a poster with instructions.(Photo courtesy Sarah Rainwater)What's more, the kit comes with a recipe for making your very own flower ice and herb lemonade! We've got it below, just in case you've already got your edible garden growing.
(For the flower ice)
1/2 cup fresh calendula, lemon mint, nasturtium and starflower flowers
1 cup filtered water
(For the herb lemonade)
1/4 cup lemon mint leaves
1 tbsp starflower leaves
3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp lime juice
3 cups fresh lemonade
4 cups filtered water
To make the flower ice, fill a large ice cube tray 1/4 full with filtered water. Add one or two flowers facing down in each cube and freeze. Add more water to fill the rest of the way and freeze again. To make the lemonade, mash the lemon mint and starflower leaves with the sugar using the back of a wooden spoon. Add the lime juice, lemonade and water and stir until sugar is dissolved. Chill for 1 hour and strain out the leaves. Serve with flower ice cubes.
