The Lonny team already frequents The Future Perfect's S.F. outpost to scope out the coolest modern finds on the market, but there's now another reason for us to make a visit. The company recently expanded the store to include a gallery called The Complex, which includes a totally cool apartment space curated by British design studio PINCH. Blending simple timeless forms with modern accents, it's low-key our dream home.
Not only is it perfectly curated with unique pieces like a sofa upholstered in Pierre Frey’s whimsical Le Couple fabric and a cool lacquered drink cabinet, but the husband-wife design team also debuted a new bedroom collection commissioned by The Future Perfect just for the apartment.
“We were interested in finding that perfect spot between a bed that doesn’t over-demand of a tranquil space, while also making a defined contribution to a calm, yet dimensional environment," says PINCH creative director Oona Bannon. “We admire many forms of classicism in furniture, but we are equally interested in paring back, focusing on beautiful languid lines, keeping an energy and respecting the flow of space around a piece."
“Designing a bed is a great challenge and resisting the temptation to over-design is an important consideration in our work," shares founder Russell Pinch about creating these new pieces. "We want our furniture to display an enriching but relaxed simplicity and a lightness of touch, while delivering recognizable Pinch handwriting in a piece that has only so much room for re-invention.”
If you find yourself in S.F., we definitely recommend making a stop at The Future Perfect to get a taste of these incredible designs and to hang in The Complex's artful outdoor patio on a sunny day.
