Prepare to freak out. Saint Heron (aka Solange's multidisciplinary cultural hub) is currently collaborating with IKEA on a brand new project. With a focus on 'building the community that we wish to see exist’ through music, visual art, and performance art mediums, Saint Heron has been at the forefront of beautiful creative pieces that challenge intersectional culture themes, foster thoughtful fellowship, and push the conversations of our communities to the forefront. Well now the collective is working with IKEA on exploring architectural and interior design objects with multifunctional use and we can't wait to see what the result will bring.
"Contemporary art is a huge part of people’s life today," says Marcus Engman, head of design at IKEA Range & Supply. "At IKEA we are curious about the creative space in between architecture, design, art, and music and how that could come alive in the homes of the many people. This is what we want to explore together with Saint Heron."
IKEA really has been pushing the boundary of their home offerings lately between collaborations with Virgil Abloh's Off-White and collections focused entirely on self-care. This new move shows that the company truly wants to become an global brand that's inclusive, democratic, and innovative. And like us, they also love Solange.
