If you're like us, and already dreaming about warm summer days, you're going to want to read on.
Los Angeles-based textile company, Block Shop Textiles, have now added three more off-duty essentials to an already impressive line-up of robes.
The newest collection now boasts two more sizes, promising to keep you covered from "morning coffee to poolside hangs."
With three new colorways — including poppy red, cornflower blue, and a classic, neutral linen — Block Shop Textiles' latest unisex creations take style cues from the 1960s', referencing the iconic designs of legendary architect and graphic designer, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon.
The sister-run textile studio, founded by Hopie and Lily Stockman back in 2010, has been a fixture on our design radar for its graphic prints, scarves, napkins, and more. Nowadays, the duo enjoy a home base in both L.A and Palm Springs, embracing an artisanal, hands-on ethos, when it comes to ethical design. From start to finish, their entire process is manual, ensuring the final product offers the utmost in quality.
"Lily and I both throw our robes on first thing in the morning, we love that they make you feel a touch 'goddessy', as you’re going about your morning routine, no matter how frazzled you are or how dirty your hair is," says Hopie, one-half of the designer duo.
"We designed the deep pockets to hold your phone, while you’re making coffee. Draping yourself in striking patterns and super soft, lightweight fabric may (or may not) make you feel like Sonia DeLaunay, flitting about your Parisian apartment, paintbrush in hand."
In addition to their concern for quality and statement-making design, Block Shop Textiles invests five percent of their annual profit back into their Bagru Women’s Empowerment Program, in a bid to give back to the community.
"We wanted these robes to be works of art," Stockman adds. "There are so many great minimalist robes out there, so we wanted to make something out of sumptuous materials, but with a strong visual statement that was 100 percent Block Shop."
