Stop everything. Pantone's Color Of The Year 2019 has been released and it looks like next year, we're going to be seeing Living Coral everywhere. The shade is an orangey-red hue that evokes the natural reef and definitely is fitting with design trends leaning towards bold and bright maximalism.
“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”
Vibrant, yet still muted, this shade is a great choice for those looking to add some bold color to a space, but don't want to be overwhelmed with something too bright. We can definitely see it taking off in the design world, as its quite similar to the hues of terracotta and can be a fun option to use in fashion, beauty, or in interiors. After a year of Ultraviolet, we can definitely get on board with this new color for 2019.
