Remember your homecoming photos? You probably lined up in a backyard with all your friends for a plethora of awkward pics. Well a group of high school seniors in Frisco, Texas took a trip to the furniture mecca IKEA to create an original shoot that is not only cool, but oh-so hilarious. After all, they wanted to really hit home with their photos.
With the help of a professional photographer mother, the teens took to IKEA in their finest for a shoot that would quickly go viral. "The support from her really helped encourage everyone to get into it," said student Megan Goulding to Refinery29. ""When we first got there and started posing, one employee looked at us very confused and shook his head but just walked away," she said. "Later on, we actually took a picture with an Ikea employee because he let us! We were being super-respectful and so they seemed okay with it."
The students definitely made quite the impact with their shoot, which quickly took the internet by storm. "All of my friends and people at my school that I don't even know tell us all, 'You're famous!' like 50-plus times a day!" Goulding said. "Everyone thinks it is really fun and unique. Even my teachers have started mentioning it to me. It's been really fun."
While support from classmates is cool, the home brand gave the teens are personal shoutout over Twitter. Let's just say these kids really won the homecoming crown.
