Tucked away in Los Angeles' Arts District is a brand new venue that feels like a hideaway straight out of the past. The Mulholland Room is a salon with gorgeous vintage furniture and walls filled with modern works that give the space a unique and elevated vibe. Founded by actor Walton Goggins and cinematic cameraman Matthew Alper, the location is a love letter to L.A. that integrates an Art Deco aesthetic into a space for collaboration, conversation, and creative cocktails. However with no walk-ins allowed, the private space is perfectly curated for intimate and stylish soirées.
Goggins and Alper are also the founders of Mulholland Distilling, a collection of New World Gin, Whiskey and Vodka named for William Mulholland, the man who brought water to Los Angeles when it was still a desert town. The pair hope to have visitors sample the spirits at its fully stocked bar in addition to hosting guest bartenders to create their own cocktails for the space.
What stands out above all is the gorgeous design filled with pieces the pair have found throughout world travels. From distressed leathered seats, cozy furs, and velvet-tufted sofas, the space has a beautifully curated vibe that we want to steal for our own homes.
