As movie stars flock to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival this week, we're channeling ski town vibes courtesy of one of its loveliest hotels, Washington School House. E-tailer Joss & Main has gathered up some of the best unstereotypical chalet decor inspired by the boutique property for an exclusive sale.
A clever mix of disparate styles—white-washed antlers, crystal sconces, and French-style settees—in the public spaces meld easily among pale, paneled walls. The soaring, 16-foot ceilings and 9-foot windows, restored during a historically sensitive renovation, add to the sense of grandeur. "The school house’s original quarried limestone exterior has been protected," explains designer, Paul Allen, whose team also utilized reclaimed wood from a Utah trestle bridge in their design.
The 12 guest rooms, also awash in fresh white, feature old-fashioned, wrought-iron beds paired with modern art. "European antiques are a nod to the diverse culture of Park City’s mining past," says Allen. Luxurious Pratesi bedding completes the decor and offers the perfect place to crash after a long day of movie screenings and star watching.
