The international symbol for relaxation, usually reserved for vacations, lazy summer afternoons or camping, has found a new place in the home. This versatile and functional seating/swinging/sleeping sling—possibly the year's most unexpected decor phenomenon—first caught our eye hanging as wall decor at Coqui Coqui in Tulum, Mexico, the geographic inception point of the hammock trend.
We've since spotted them adorning the walls of some of our favorite shops, homes and hotels—used both functionally (indoors!) and as a new type of decorative wall hanging that seems like a natural extension of the macramé designs that have been permeating the design world as of late.
