It's the night before Christmas, and I'm sorry to admit, that I still haven't found presents for loved ones—my husband, mom, and sister, to wit. But I'm not worried because I've got a trick up my sleeve: Permanent Press Editions. Founded by Shana Faust and Alexa Mulvihill, two friends who honed their art directing and styling skills when they worked together at Martha Stewart Weddings, the two-month-old company specializes in original, archival-quality photographs that depict a variety of themes and genres and won't have you scraping the pennies trapped in your couch to pay for them. Bonus: there are enough options to cover everyone on your list, from your 'tudey tween niece to your fashion-obsessed boss.
The first edition of prints focuses on the beauty of everyday objects. When I saw the artfully arranged lures in Four Fish (top, left), I knew my angler husband would appreciate it more than the new tie he requested just to get me off his back. Hipster boyfriends seem the perfect target for the stark transistor radio in AM (top, right), and No. 27 | Venus Red (center, right) is just the thing for your Prada-wearing mother-in-law. I'm also considering the colorful noisemakers in 9.5 Horns (below) for my 10-year-old sister. It's too late to order these in time for Christmas, but I'll just print out a picture of my chosen print and wrap it in a box. That way, my loved ones will get something special even after the holiday festivities are over—and it'll be one fewer thing to carry back home with us. Look out for Permanent Press Editions' next collection, available spring 2015.
